The Official Listings of the Pearl Jam Twenty Soundtrack

There are lots of reasons to celebrate this year. Pearl Jam is set to have a year-long celebration of their 20th anniversary as a band. This 2011, they offer their fans a series of tours, documentaries and, album releases that will mark their two decades in the music scene.

Formed after the demise of band Mother Love Bone, Pearl Jam arose to become one of the most popular rock bands in the 90s. Now that the band has reached their 20th year as a group, Pearl Jam has a lot in store for their loyal fans that have supported them in the past two decades. As forerunners of the grunge music, also referred to as the Seattle sound, Pearl Jam started off with criticisms, especially from former Nirvana’s frontman, Kurt Cobain. Now, after twenty long years of controversies and band member changes, Pearl Jam has become one of the most influential and successful grunge band of the 90s. Even up to now, Pearl Jam will not be eliminated from the world of rock music, especially in the grunge and alternative side of rock music.

The veteran Seattle grunge band just released the official tracklist for the soundtrack to their documentary film Pearl Jam Twenty, directed by Cameron Crowe. The documentary film was created from 1,200 hours of never before seen footage and clips. It includes interviews with the band members, live performances, as well as many behind the scenes footage. The trailer of the film is now available for viewing at various websites. And if the soundtrack and the film aren’t enough, Pearl Jam is also set to release their Pearl Jam Twenty book that will feature the band’s journey for twenty years in the music industry. The book also includes interviews with the Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, Neil Young, and Bruce Springsteen, among many others. The 384-page hardcover Pearl Jam Twenty book will be released on September 13.

As for the Pearl jam soundtrack, the band has announced a two-disc set of Pearl Jam songs along with, 15 live recordings, 15 B-sides, demos, and rarities that over the course of the band’s career. It also corresponds with the release of the documentary Pearl Jam Twenty. The tracklist of the Pearl Jam Twenty soundtrack includes its special single ‘Crown of Thorns’. This track was originally written and performed by the Mother Love Bone band in the late 80’s. Mother Love Bone was a Seattle band that included former members Jeff Ament (bassist), and Stone Gossard (guitarist). The soundtrack is due to come out on September 20, 2011, but the single ‘Crown of Thorns’ is already out and available. Pearl Jam tickets for their current tour are also available online.
