Taylor Swift Reaping Awards for her Chart-topping Albums and Singles in 2011

Being one of the most popular opening acts, the country pop singer, Taylor Swift, was the belle of the ball at the 41st Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame which was held in Nashville, Tennessee on the night of October 16, 2011. Taylor Swift is an American country-pop singer and song writer who came out in the music scene with her debut single ‘Tim McGraw’ in 2006.

Taylor Alison Swift began her career as the youngest staff writer of Sony/ATV Tree publishing house. In mid-2006, she released her debut single ‘Tim McGraw’, which she herself wrote and her self-titled debut album was released on October 24, 2006. The album debuted high on the Billboard 200 while it peaked at no. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and no. 5 on the Billboard 200. It was certified five times platinum in the U.S. It has spawned the chart topping singles, ‘Tim McGraw’, ‘Teardrops on My Guitar’, ‘Our Song’, ‘Picture to Burn’, and ‘Should’ve Said No’.

Her second studio album, Fearless, was released on November 11, 2008 by the Big Records Machine. Her Speak Now album debuted at no.1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. It has sold 592,000 copies in its first week of release. Fearless was also certified six times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on September 2010 and it has sold approximately 8,681,753 records worldwide as of March 2011. Fearless was also recognized by the Billboard as the biggest-selling album in the last five years in America. The album Fearless has produced the singles ‘Love Story’, ‘White Horse’, ‘You Belong with Me’, ‘Fifteen’, and the title track ‘Fearless’. To promote her album Taylor launched her first major tour, the Fearless Tour in Spring 2009.

The third album of Taylor Swift, entitled Speak Now, was released on October 25, 2010. It debuted at no.1 on the Billboard 200 and it has sold 1,047,000 copies in its first week. It was certified triple platinum by the RIAA for having sold about 3.7 million copies in the United States. The singles included in the Speak Now album are; ‘Mine’, ‘Back to December’, ‘Mean’, ‘The Story of Us’, and ‘Sparks Fly’. She promoted the album with her second concert tour, the Speak Now World Tour. Her Speak Now World Tour ranked in 10th on the Top 50 Worldwide Tour (Mid-Year) of the Pollstar’s list. Taylor’s guests on the tour includes Justin Bieber, Jason Mraz, Nicki Minaj, Hot Chelle Rae, Tim McGraw, ‘’Ronnie Dunn, Andy Grammer, Hayley Williams of Paramore, Usher, T.I., and B.o.B. To date, the Taylor Swift tickets for the world tour have a box office score of 99%.

Recently, the ‘Mine’ singer has been recognized as the NSAIS’s songwriter/artist of the year for the 4th time within 5 years. She has also been awarded as the Billboard’s Woman of the Year in 2011. She has broken more than one record for being the youngest female award winner. Taylor Swift may just be 21 years old and is on her fifth year on the music industry, but she has already received 90 awards including her latest from the Billboard.
