This four-time CMA and four-time ACM Entertainer of the Year launched his Goin’ Coastal tour which began on March 17, 2011 in West Palm Beach and ended on August 17, 2011 at Foxboro, Massachusetts. Chesney was actually the second biggest ticket seller of the decade as he is the only artist from any music genre to have sold more than a million Kenny Chesney tickets for 8 consecutive summers.
Kenney Chesney has co-headlined his stadium tour dates with the 2010 Grammy’s Best New Artist, the Zac Brown Band. The multi-Grammy nominee Billy Currington and Uncle Cracker has opened all the stadium dates except for the ones in Foxboro Massachusetts. Meanwhile, Kenny Chesney has had another record-breaking summer with the news that his latest released album, Hemingway’s Whiskey, has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for selling over than one million copies. It became Chesney’s 10th platinum album as a country singer. Hemingway’s Whiskey has produced three no. 1 singles including the lead single entitled ‘The Boys of Fall’, ‘Somewhere with You’, and the current hit ‘You and Tequila’. The single ‘You and Tequila’ which features Grace Potter is currently no. 3 on the Billboard’s Top Country Songs chart and has been certified gold.
This news about Chesney’s 10th platinum album came after he wrapped up his Goin’ Coastal Tour which is one of the year’s biggest tours with about 1.3 million Kenney Chesney tickets sold in more than 60 shows. During the Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas on September, he co-headlined the festival with acts including Lady Gaga, Cold Play, and Jay-Z. On October 3, 2011, Chesney released the fourth single, ‘Reality’, from his Hemingway’s Whiskey album. As of October 14, 2011, Kenney Chesney has been confirmed to perform at the CMA Awards. He will be joined by Grave Potter on their duet, ‘You and Tequila’ which is also nominated for the Musical Event and Music Video category. Chesney is also nominated for the Male Vocalist category for Hemingway’s Whiskey.
Kenney Chesney, along with Lady Gaga, Bono, and many other artists have also performed on a concert in honor of former President Bill Clinton charity works since he left the White House. The Decade of Difference: A Concert Celebrating 10 Years of the William J. Clinton Foundation concert was held on October 15, 2011 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California. The concert was also a late celebration for the former President’s 65th birthday. The ticket prices for the event ranged from $50 to about $550.
