Pearl Jam, In Celebration of Their 20th Anniversary

Pearl Jam is an American rock bands who were one of the most influential grunge bands in Seattle during the early 1990s. Pearl Jam’s lineup currently consists of Eddie Vedder the lead vocalist and guitarist, Jeff Ament the bass guitarist, Stone Gossard the rhythm guitarist Mike McCready the lead guitarist, and Matt Cameron who has been their drummer since 1988. Pearl Jam has been regarded by Allmusic as the most popular American rock & roll band of the 1990′s. Since their inception in the music industry, the band has continued to produce hits after hits and they went on tours to reach out to their fans with their music.

This Seattle, Washington based alternative rock band from the 90′s was formed after the demise of the former band Mother Love Bone of Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, and Mike McCready. Pearl Jam has a discography that consists of 9 studio albums, 3 compilation albums, 8 live albums, 1 extended play, and 31 singles. They released their highest charting debut album, Ten, in 1991. Ten reached up to diamond certification (13x platinum). Their subsequent albums include Vs. in 1993, Vitalogy in 1994, No Code in 1996, Yield in 1998, Binaural in 2000, Riot Act in 2002, Pearl Jam in 2006, and Backspacer in 2009.

Now that the band is celebrating their twentieth anniversary as a band, Pearl Jam has prepared many surprises for their fans. They released a biography film entitled Pearl Jam Twenty (PJ20), an accompanying book and soundtrack, and they also launched the Pearl Jam Twenty Tour. Their Pearl Jam Twenty Tour (PJ20 Tour) was launched to support their Pearl Jam Twenty compilation album which was released on September 20, 2011.

Pearl Jam Twenty Tour is composed of 3 legs visiting the United States, Canada, and Latin America. There are a total of 22 shows and it started with a two-day festival on September 3 and 4, 2011 at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin. They also performed during a show on the Labor Day weekend. It was followed with ten shows in Canada. The band’s last show in Canada will be at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver. Pearl Jam also added nine more dates for their Latin American leg which was scheduled in November. It was the second time for the band to tour in Latin America. Their first time was in 2005 when they had a show at San Jose, Costa Rica. In their Latin American shows, Pearl Jam was joined by the American punk band X, which will open for the band. Because of the high demands for the Pearl Jam tickets during the pre-sale, the website was taken offline.
