Kenny Chesney Tickets: More About Kenny Chesney
Going down the road to stardom was a long and difficult journey for Kenny Chesney. Like his laid-back and relaxed style in music, this country singer-songwriter from Knoxville, Tennessee was your regular musician guy playing football at school, hooked up with a band when he was in college and played songs he wrote at local bars. Born Kenneth Arnold Chesney on March 26, 1968 to an elementary school teacher father and a hairdresser mother, he knew music would always be a part of him when he took it seriously upon reaching college. It was back then when he taught himself how to play a guitar and even began performing in their school’s Bluegrass program. He earned his degree in advertising as he finished his college in 1991, but his heart found its haven in music.
His talent in creating beautiful country music and writing songs was further enhanced as he became a regular in various local bars and restaurants around town, from which he funded a CD he recorded himself. He produced a thousand copies of this CD and sold them at his gigs. Such hard work supported his activities in pursuing a real career in music, and when he went to Nashville, he performed in many local clubs. He signed with recording labels Opryland Music Group and Capricorn Records and released his debut album “In My Wildest Dreams”, though it did not work out much to have an impressive number of sales, with only just over 100,000 copies sold.
It was when he caught the attention of BNA Records, which eventually led to the release of his major-label debut album “All I Need to Know” in 1995 that he truly began his rise to sensational stardom status. Three singles from this album including “Fall in Love”, “All I Need to Know” and “Grandpa Told Me So” had spawned high-level hits on the charts. His follow-up album “Me and You” was released in the summer of 1996, with its singles “Me and You” and “When I Close My Eyes” reaching number two chart rankings. In 1997, he released his third album “I Will Stand” that debuted with the single “She’s Got It All”. This album is also best known for the top-charting singles “I Will Stand”, “A Chance” and “That’s Why I’m Here”.
His unstoppable success started to unfold before him in his upcoming releases. The next album he released in 1999, “Everywhere We Go”, took the form of his first ever multi-platinum album. Its singles “How Forever Feels” and “You Had Me From Hello” became his first songs to hit the number one spots in the chart consecutively. Other singles “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” and “What I Need to Do” also charted well from this album. His career sky-rocketed with his 2002 release of “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems”, which became a quadruple-platinum album with major singles hitting high chart rankings. His second consecutive quadruple-platinum album is “When the Sun Goes Down”, which was released in 2004.
He released several successful albums the following year, including “As You Are: Songs From an Old Blue Chair” and “The Road and The Radio” while at the height of his marriage with actress Renee Zellweger which was eventually annulled. In 2008, he released “Lucky Old Sun” with its single “Everybody Wants to go Heaven” which became an instant top-charting country music hit. His latest album released last year “Hemingway Whiskey” also garnered great sales from top singles “The Boys of Fall” and “Somewhere with You”.
