Katy Perry Tickets: More About Katy Perry

Katy Perry Tickets: More About Katy PerryKaty Perry’s musical career has never been bigger. This singer-songwriter and actress, best known for her catchy songs, idiosyncratic performances and eccentric fashion sense, has spelled out the real entertainment potential of pop music for today’s generations of musicians and artists. Brave Katy have made her way into show business with a great sense of individuality and strong conviction with her style and music –not to mention her fearless views on sexuality and religion.

Born Katheryn Hudson on October 25, 1984 to Christian pastor parents in Santa Barbara, California, this pop music sensation grew up in a very conventional environment. Her family’s strict upbringing had made her focus on only religious activities, even to the extent of not being allowed to watch cable channels like MTV or listen to songs other than Sister Act 1 and 2 official soundtracks. She took interest into pursuing her singing activities at a very young age, with her taking singing lessons when she was 9 years old and learning how to play guitar when she reached 13. She tried pursuing a career with her gospel music and recorded a self-titled gospel album Katy Hudson in Nashville, which was released in 2001.

This was not an easy course to take for Katy. When her first attempt in the music scene failed, she moved to Los Angeles and worked with Glen Ballard, a songwriter-producer who collaborated with several notable artists like Alanis Morissette and Christina Aguilera. She had two more failed attempts when she was turned down by several record companies and her collaboration with the performers The Matrix was cancelled before its scheduled release. Her five years’ stay in LA was a constant struggle to live by each day by borrowing money from acquaintances, and even selling her own clothes to pay her rent. This struggle became her driving force to desire even more to claim her rightful place in the music industry.

In 2006, Katy caught the attention of Jason Flom, head of Capitol Music Groups and CEO of Virgin Records, and the rest is history. She changed her screen name from Katy Hudson to Katy Perry because of its similarity to the name of the actress Kate Hudson. She signed to Capitol Music in 2007 and was encouraged to write her own music, which helped her launch an image of her as an energetic sensational pop star. She debuted with her single “Ur So Gay” that stirred a little commotion with some religious and homosexual groups, but caught the attention of Madonna who labeled this song as one of her favorites at that time. However, it was with her single “I Kissed a Girl” that made her reach the top, reaching chart peaks in many countries and driving its album “One of the Boys” into the U.S. Top Ten Charts.

She further added great seasoning to her already meaty career when she released singles “Hot n Cold”, which later became her second multiplatinum hit, as well as “Thinking of You” and “Waking Up in Vegas”, all topping many charts. She had series of concerts supporting her mainstream debut and later went on world tours, which generated sold-out Katy Perry tickets in various continents across the globe, including Europe, Asia and America. Her first world tour, “Hello Katy Tour” in 2009, was in support for her second album “One of the Boys” while her on-going tour, “California Dreams Tour” that would end in November this year, is in promotion of her third album “Teenage Dream”. Fans all over the world are eagerly anticipating her sure-to-entertain live shows. Get your Katy Perry tickets early to ensure you see Katy Perry perform live in a town near you.
